Baltic Bread Project

We visited Latvia with our School of Leaders youth leaders. It was first time and ton of fun. Basically three day long mission-trip. We were in 4 cities and together with Latvians and few americans shared gospel face-to-face with about 500 people.

As most of this blog readers know, mission-trip is time where you see God do miracles and change people lives. I find it also a great tool for team-building and equipping hands-on for ministry.

Not only we equipped 4 local ministries there (Riga, Cesis, Valmiera, Liepa) and here in Estonia (Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Kunda), but our team was also equipped with a great tool. Its called Baltic Bread Project. I think inventors are from Youth With A Mission.

Idea is simple. You take about 20 black breads in groups of two and go on the streets. You give the bread to people and say that this is for free and it is a symbol of Gods love for us. Just as he gave His son is this bread free for people. You have also small flier that reminds the same message. If person is interested you can continue with talking more about God and Gospel.

Most interesting part is that you see their reaction towards Gods grace in few seconds. Secondly, you find it surprising that people are more open for gifts from God than from you. (They do not want to take bread if you say it is just from you).

If Lord wills I will start using that gospel tool also in Estonia.
